I'm sure the hair in this art work would pass what I call the "straw test." One gets a plastic drinking straw - where I work, these are common - and simply shove the straw into the subject's hair. If the straw remains - assuming the subject hasn't yanked it out - for over 30 minutes, then the hair has passes the "straw test."
Pencils are fun to put in there, too.

Her hair is silky soft and the pen would fall right out. Because she uses Herbal Essences.

Another hair gag from that era was "spontaneous combustion", where the hair would catch fire for seemingly no reason. This was in the comics, not in real life.
Seems a character named Sedusa in the Powerpuff Girls had hair which would grab at things and toss them...I actually liked Sedusa.
Oh crap...I just admitted to watching the Powerpuff Girls!
(The show was quite funny...like Dexter's Lab and 2 Stupid Dogs...)
If you wish to ninja-fu the hair, then do eet. I'm an old coot, and things like that amuse me.

Anyway, we discussed episodes of Powerpuff Girls and agreed the better, funniest episode is when Bubbles had a head injury and thought she was Mojo Jo-Jo. Paula also liked the one where Buttercup refused to bathe.
