This prize was very long in coming, thank you so much for being so patient and I hope you love her! I put my heart into this one as I just adore Amalthea. I'm a big fan of the book. I like the movie also but it does suffer from poor voice acting and under-budgeted animation. Can you imagine of someone like Miyazaki got his hands on The Last Unicorn and decided to do something with it? Swoon.
Anyhoo. I did this on hot-press watercolor paper, I inked it with my Sakura Microns as usual but the unicorn in the background I just traced lightly with a pencil. Once I added in her colors I erased most of the lines to give her a ghost like effect. The butterfly came out way too dark in the watercolor so I brightened her up with the help of digital magic, yay! It's not perfect but I am quite happy with the result. Also I found the perfect recipe for white hair! I used Sepia mixed with some white and watered down. It gave me that sort of warm french grey color I was looking for.
yes white hair s hard to colour digitally let alone with trandtional means, you did a great job with it <3 i especially love her blush on ehr cheeks and her eyes! ive never read the book and only found out about the film in my late teens and adored it, i have it on DVD :3 maybe i should try and look into the book as well!
i will indeed look into it, ive been getting into reading again! it nice curling up wiyh a book, with proper book smell, and faded pages! rather than a bright laptop XD
The book is very much worth checking out.
I was in love with this movie~~
Great job
